Furry Tail Pet Care is seeking independent subcontractors to provide dog walking and pet sitting services around Coffs Harbour.
This opportunity is ideal for independent, self-motivated individuals who want to make their own schedule and take pride in their work. While caring for adorable pets is incredibly rewarding, it also comes with responsibility—our pet carers must be reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of handling pets and homes with care. Every day brings new adventures, challenges, and the joy of making a real difference in pets' and owners' lives.
As a Dog Walker and Pet Sitter, you will:
- Visit clients’ homes to care for their pets, providing food, water, playtime, and lots of love.
- Walk dogs for 30 to 60 minutes in their neighbourhood, at the beach, or on trails.
- Administer medication if needed and clean up after pets (including scooping litter boxes).
- Water plants and collect mail for travelling clients.
- Drive to client locations, check in and out via our mobile app, and provide detailed visit reports with pictures.
Who We’re Looking For:
This role is ideal for someone who:
Genuinely loves animals – We treat pets like family so if you don’t truly adore pets, this job isn’t for you.
Has experience caring for pets – Prior pet sitting, dog walking, or animal care experience is required.
Can commit to working year-round – Please apply only if you can work 12 months of the year.
Is reliable and responsible – Clients depend on us to be on time and provide excellent care.
Has strong communication skills – You’ll need to update clients and engage with our team.
Is comfortable working alone – This job requires independence and confidence.
Can travel within our service area – You must be based locally or willing to drive to client locations daily.
Bonus: Any experience with marketing, social media, or community engagement is a big plus!
What you will need:
- ABN (Australian Business Number)
- Police check
- Public liability insurance
- Driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Mobile phone and data plan
- Experience with pets
- Pet first aid certification (Can be completed in your first month working with us)
- Availability for flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and some public holidays
