About the role:
Western Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Emergency Medicine Research Lead to drive a high-impact research agenda across our three Emergency Departments and two Urgent Care Centre’s.
This 0.5 FTE non-clinical role offers the opportunity to shape a growing, collaborative research program focused on translating evidence into practice and improving patient outcomes in a high-volume, diverse clinical environment.
You will work closely with clinical leaders, multidisciplinary teams and academic partners to build research capability, mentor clinicians and grow research output and funding.
The successful applicant will be an Emergency Physician with a strong track record in clinical research and demonstrated ability to lead within complex health services.
This is an outstanding opportunity to shape and grow a dynamic research program within a large, diverse and rapidly expanding health service in Melbourne’s West.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and implement a coordinated Emergency Medicine research strategy aligned with organisational priorities
- Foster a strong, multidisciplinary research culture embedded in clinical care and education
- Develop research partnerships with universities, networks and external organisations
- Grow research output, publications and competitive grant funding
- Mentor clinicians and supervise research trainees
About you:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (or equivalent)
- Strong track record in clinical research, including publications and/or grant funding
- Demonstrated experience leading research programs in complex health services
- Ability to mentor clinicians and build research capability
- Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills
