Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Coach – Future Manager Opportunity

Underground Strength Gym – Marsfield, NSW

Casual to Start | Blend of PT + Group Coaching | Pathway to 2IC/Manager Role

At Underground Strength Gym, we’re a strength training facility built for people who are done with the burnout of cardio-centric group classes.

Our mission is simple:

To help everyday people build real strength through smart, structured training.

We blend the best of personal coaching with the energy of small-group training — and everything we do is built around proper movement, progressive overload, and coaching that actually cares.

We train beginners and professionals alike.

We use barbells, dumbbells, cables, machines, and coaching systems that support long-term progress.

The Role (What You’ll Be Doing)

Run both 1-on-1 PT sessions and structured small-group strength classes
Build long-term relationships with clients — we’re big on the little things
Guide clients through proper form, programming, and progression
Deliver great coaching without the ego and with attention to detail
Learn our systems: onboarding, client check-ins, sales, and gym operations
Step into leadership responsibilities over time as you grow into a potential 2IC/Manager role

You’ll thrive here if you:

Have experience in either group fitness or personal training (or both)
Are a genuine “people person” — you notice the details and connect with clients on a personal level
Are open to learning how the business side of a gym works (sales, systems, retention, leadership)
Want to eventually move into a 2IC/Manager role (not essential, but preferred)
Value professionalism, humility, and long-term growth over short-term hype

What’s On Offer:

Start casual with 15–20 hours per week (flexible schedule: mornings, evenings or both)
Blend of personal training and group coaching
Ongoing mentorship and development in business operations & leadership
Clear growth pathway to a managerial position as the gym expands
A gym that values coaching as a craft, not just a service

Must-Haves:

Cert III & IV in Fitness (or equivalent)
Minimum 1 year of coaching experience (PT or Group)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Bonus: any previous leadership or managerial experience in fitness or similar roles
