Exciting, unique opportunity to step into a leadership role within a dynamic, patient-focused environment as the Senior Medical Receptionist within our BRAND-NEW Oncology clinic in Redcliffe, with state-of-the-art facilities, on a full-time, permanent basis.

Whether you are an experienced leader or ready to take the next step in your career, this hands-on position will see you guiding and supporting our patient services team to deliver exceptional care. As a key member of the team, you will help drive service excellence by fostering a culture of empathy, professionalism, and collaboration. Your leadership will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and compassionate experience for our patients and their families.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting and is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of people affected by cancer.

More specifically, you will:

Provide direction, supervision, support and recognition of staff activities and promote collaboration, cooperation and teamwork through effective leadership and management strategies.
Provide support, initiate and drive change strategies across the practice through the provision of data and leadership which supports both the vision and ethos for GenesisCare and the development of patient focussed change strategies, programs and initiatives.
Be a champion for high level of patient services by meeting patient needs, maintaining patient service levels and monitoring and reacting to patient feedback.
Gain a clear understanding of the funding mechanisms related to Radiation Oncology billings, Medicare and the Medicare Safety Net. Being able to clearly communicate the funding mechanisms, out of pocket fees and other account related enquiries.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and promote and support initiatives designed to improve clerical staff engagement.
Display a strong commitment to developing others through implementing effective performance management and development processes and providing staff with ongoing feedback and performance coaching.

Demonstrate experience in managing and leading a team.
Show demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a healthcare environment.
Have strong experience in medical administration and reception management.
Show great management and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with and effectively influence staff & patients.
Have a demonstrated understanding of and ability to provide excellent leadership in line with the organisation’s values.
Have a collaborative and flexible approach to delivering exceptional patient centred services.
Show a willingness and ability to proactively implement continuous improvement and change initiatives.
Are able to effectively and collaboratively solve problems as they arise.
Possess High level Medical accounts processing skills including knowledge of Medicare, DVA and private health funds.
Have the ability to use clinical administration systems, as well as Microsoft Office software for data analysis and reporting purposes.
