What you'll actually do

Help kids work through LEGO and VEX builds, step by step
Debug simple coding problems with students (Scratch-style block coding, then Python for older kids)
Manage classroom flow: helping fast finishers extend their builds, supporting kids who are stuck
Set up and pack down classroom kits before and after class
Be a warm, calm presence for the kids — and a friendly face for parents at pickup
Take occasional photos/videos for our records (with permission)

What we're looking for

Genuinely enjoys working with kids aged 5–12 — this matters more than anything else
Reliable, on time, communicates clearly when something changes
Some background in one of: robotics, coding, engineering, education, or related STEM
Comfortable saying "let's figure it out together" instead of giving kids the answer
Available for at least 2 weekday afternoon/evening shifts or weekend per week, term-time

Nice to have

Bilingual English / Mandarin (most of our families are Chinese-speaking)
Previous tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or babysitting experience
LEGO Mindstorms / Spike Prime / VEX experience
Working towards a degree in Engineering, Education, Computer Science, or similar
Your own LEGO or robotics hobby project — we love hearing about these

Required before starting

Pay: $30.00 – $59.00 per hour
