About the role
As Oporto’s Social Media Marketing Manager, you will lead the creative and strategic direction of one of Australia’s most loved QSR brands, bringing The Portuguese Way to life across every social touchpoint. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on content creation, ensuring Oporto remains culturally relevant, conversation-worthy and social first. You’ll shape how Australians discover, experience and engage with the brand through platform-native storytelling that builds fame, drives consideration and inspires people to eat Oporto.

You’ll lead Oporto’s social strategy across organic social, creator and influencer partnerships, community management and social first campaigns. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will work closely with the Brand team, PR and external agencies, you’ll own the social content ecosystem, from strategy and planning through to execution, optimisation and reporting.

Please note some flexibility to work outside of normal office hours to manage social media activities and campaigns e.g. New Store Openings will be required.

Oporto's heritage is inspired by Portuguese flavours, culture and flame-grilled cooking. In 150 words or less, pitch us a social post, campaign idea or piece of content you would create to celebrate Oporto's heritage and connect with today's audience.

Key Activities Include:
Social Strategy & Planning

Develop and execute Oporto's social media strategy, ensuring content and channel activity supports brand positioning, audience growth and commercial objectives.
Own the social content calendar, identifying opportunities to participate in relevant trends, cultural moments and conversations while maintaining brand consistency and tone of voice.
Champion platform-first thinking and emerging social opportunities to keep Oporto distinctive, relevant and connected to evolving consumer behaviours.

Content Creation & Campaign Delivery

Create and oversee engaging, platform-native content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and emerging social platforms.
Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns with social at the centre, tailoring content and creative approaches for each channel.
Partner with internal teams, franchisees, restaurants and agency partners to deliver content supporting brand campaigns, product launches and new restaurant openings.

Community & Brand Advocacy

Manage community engagement across social channels, ensuring customer interactions are timely, authentic and aligned with Oporto's brand experience.
Build meaningful relationships with customers and online communities, turning conversations into opportunities to strengthen advocacy and loyalty.
Maintain a consistent brand voice across all social interactions while proactively identifying opportunities to drive positive engagement.

Creator & Influencer Partnerships

Develop and execute creator and influencer strategies that extend campaign reach, increase brand relevance and strengthen audience connection.
Identify, engage and manage creator partnerships that generate authentic content aligned to Oporto's brand and business objectives.
Foster a creator-led approach to social marketing, leveraging emerging content formats and platform behaviours to maximise impact.

Performance, Leadership & Budget Management

Monitor, analyse and report on social media performance, using insights to optimise content, improve engagement and drive business outcomes.
Manage social media budgets, agency partnerships and campaign investment to ensure activity is delivered efficiently and within scope.
Mentor interns and collaborate with stakeholders across Marketing, Operations and external partners to build social capability and deliver best-practice social initiatives.

About You
Essential

Experience leading social media, community management and content creation for a consumer-facing brand.
Demonstrated ability to build authentic brand stories that connect culture, customer insight and commercial outcomes.
Proven success developing social-first strategies and content that deliver measurable brand and commercial outcomes.
Strong understanding of social platforms, audience behaviours, digital trends and content optimisation techniques.
Exceptional copywriting and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt content across platforms, audiences and objectives.
Highly organised with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines.

Desirable

Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline.
Experience developing and managing creator and influencer partnerships from strategy through to execution and performance reporting.
Experience within QSR, hospitality, retail or a challenger brand environment, with a creator-led mindset and passion for culturally relevant content.
