Full Job Description

Urbanimals Pet Wahroonga is a specialised pet retail and pet-care business providing quality pet products, professional grooming, dog training and related services to the local community.

We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of our Wahroonga store. This is a full-time position suited to a hands-on manager with strong retail operations, staff supervision, stock control and customer-service experience.

Key responsibilities include:

Plan, organise and manage the daily operations of the retail store.
Supervise, roster, train and coordinate retail and customer-service staff.
Monitor stock levels and determine purchasing and replenishment requirements.
Liaise with suppliers and coordinate orders, deliveries and product availability.
Manage merchandising, product presentation and in-store displays.
Monitor sales performance, customer demand and stock movement.
Manage pricing, promotions and product ranges.
Handle customer enquiries, complaints, refunds and service issues.
Maintain high standards of customer service and store presentation.
Coordinate retail activities with the grooming, dog-training and marketing teams.
Monitor store expenses and assist with achieving sales and profitability targets.
Implement and maintain store procedures, workplace standards and operational policies.
Report on sales, staffing, inventory and operational performance to the Director.

About you

The successful applicant should have:

relevant experience in retail management or store management;
demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating employees;
strong stock-control, purchasing and supplier-management skills;
experience with merchandising and retail sales;
strong customer-service and problem-solving skills;
good organisational and communication skills;
the ability to independently manage day-to-day store operations; and
an interest in or knowledge of pet products and the pet-care industry.

Previous experience in a pet retail, grooming, animal-care or similar specialised retail environment will be highly regarded.

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
