The role is responsible for providing strategic procurement advice to staff and senior executives, aligning to Whole of Victorian Government and departmental standards, policies and procedures. The team provides expert advice to strengthen the Department's three lines of defence model. This is a full-time fixed-term role until 30 June 2029.

The Department of Education (DE) leads the delivery of education and development services to children and students both directly through government schools and indirectly through the regulation and funding of early childhood services and non-government schools.
About the Victorian School Building Authority
The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) is part of the Department of Education and leads the planning, delivery and maintenance of education facilities across both schools and early learning settings. Established in 2016, it oversees one of Victoria's largest building programs, supporting the full education lifecycle from early childhood to secondary school. In response to Victoria's introduction of Two Years of Funded Kindergarten, the VSBA is working closely with the early childhood sector to deliver a significant pipeline of new and expanded kindergarten facilities, often co-located with schools.
The VSBA delivers four key priorities:

building and expanding schools and early childhood facilities to meet population growth.

planning, designing and constructing new facilities and upgrading existing ones to meet enrolment demand

modernising and maintaining school and early learning facilities through coordinated programs, expert advice and grants

engaging communities to ensure local input, transparency, and strong partnerships in project delivery
The VSBA brings together expertise in property, construction and project management, architecture, facilities maintenance, and education operations, alongside specialists in relocatable buildings, data and policy, finance, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
About the Division
The Corporate Division provides corporate support to all VSBA teams and fulfills an important assurance and oversight role. It guides the VSBA to achieve our strategic objectives, our project and program management requirements, and ensures our decision-making is transparent and accountable through the provision of governance, assurance, risk management, systems support and performance reporting. The division also regularly reviews current market trends for accurate budgeting and obtaining value-for money tender outcomes and manages the VSBA's financial transactions, advice and reporting. The division also provides end-to-end communications for building projects, maintains the VSBA website, and supports campaigns and social media, ministerial event briefings and events.
About the Role
The role is responsible for providing strategic procurement advice to staff and senior executives, aligning to Whole of Victorian Government and departmental standards, policies and procedures. The team provides expert advice to strengthen the Department's three lines of defence model.
The role actively builds and maintains relationships with departmental stakeholders and undertakes capability and communication activities to support the VSBA' procurement and contract management. Key accountabilities include:

Provide specialist advice in relation to procurement and contracting to a range of stakeholders across the VSBA

Initiate and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders at peer and senior levels.

Work collaboratively by providing responsive procurement advice, ensuring compliance with VSBA procedures

Input into the development of guidelines, procedures and systems to ensure effective support to the VSBA's procurement processes to ensure Whole of Victorian Government and departmental standards, policies and procedures are met
This is a full-time fixed-term role until 30 June 2029.
