Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Child Care Educator to join our professional & dedicated team. This is a full-time ongoing position, offering 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday) at Giralang, ACT.

At My Little Star Early Learning Centre, we are passionate about providing high-quality care and education for children aged six weeks to five years. Located in Giralang, ACT, our state-of-the-art facility is designed to create a warm, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Our dedicated team of educators is committed to fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence through a play-based curriculum aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). We value strong partnerships with families and the local community, ensuring every child feels supported, nurtured, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

· Assist in the preparation of the learning environment, materials and equipment for children’s education & recreational activities.

· Contribute to documentation and goal setting for children's learning outcomes.

· Supervising children during daily routines, recreational activities, and hygiene practices.

· Entertaining children with stories, games, and other creative experiences.

· Ensuring a safe environment is maintained for children.

· Develop and maintain positive and welcoming relationships with families.

· Ensuring that records are maintained accurately for each child.

· Modelling and supporting developmentally appropriate social behaviour and skills while interacting with children.

· Ensure health & safety standards are maintained at a high level at all times.

· Support the development of sustainable practices within the centre.

Skills & Experience – What We’re Looking For:

· Must have a Diploma or Cert III of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent

· Minimum of 1 year experience as an Educator

· A current valid Working with Children Check

· Strong understanding of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)

· Ability to work in a team and maintain a positive and professional approach to children & co-workers

· Sound computer literacy skills related to documentation and program planning.

· Have high level of interpersonal and communication skills

· Bright, friendly and energetic

· Dedicated to developing the future of children

Pay: $38.00 – $40.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
