Crowne Plaza Canberra is looking for a motivated and relationship –driven Business Development Manager to join our team.
In this role, you will develop new sales opportunities and manage assigned account base to generate revenue and maximise performance for both the short term and long term in line with the annual business and strategic sales and marketing revenue plan for Crowne Plaza Canberra and wider IHG network
A little taste of your day to day

Conduct opportunity research using subscribed channels and available IHG tools to identify potential new business and opportunities
- Monitor progress towards sales goals and adjust actions as necessary, this includes hotel pipeline activities
- Manage an up-to-date database of key corporate, travel agency, embassy, and high commission contacts

Assist Conference and Events with reconversion and further development of repeat and historical clients as necessary.

Attend and host loyalty/guest entertainment at agreed times

Develop and maintain contact with key decision makers, key influencers, meeting planners, professional conference organisers, and other producers closely aligned to the business unit.
- Develop and maintain strong relations with stakeholders whose support, cooperation, and services are critical to the success of sales.
- Communicate client requirements and other relevant account/segment information to all relevant departments
- Ensure that all stakeholders are aware of systems, procedures and information relating to the delivery of all revenue from sales market segments.

Attend industry trade shows, networking events, and business forums to represent the hotel and generate leads.
What We need from you:
- You must hold valid work rights in Australia.
- Previous sales experience preferred, with sound knowledge of the sales cycle, principles and techniques

Strong eye for detail, with excellent communication and persuasive skills and the drive to see tasks through from end to end

Working knowledge of hotel systems and revenue management practices; relevant technical certifications favoured

Proactive, flexible approach to building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and senior management

Familiarity with Sales and Revenue Management Systems (Delphi, PMS preferably Opera)
