We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Coordinator to strengthen our clinical systems, staff capability, and participant health outcomes.
About the Role
This is a key clinical leadership position responsible for overseeing medication safety, staff training, quality assurance, and participant health support across services.
You will play a central role in ensuring support workers and operational teams are competent, confident, and compliant in delivering safe care to participants with complex health and disability needs.
Key Responsibilities
● Deliver and coordinate clinical training for support workers and operational teams.
● Conduct staff competency assessments, particularly in medication administration, clinical care, and high-risk support practices.
● Provide clinical leadership, mentoring, guidance, and support to support workers, Team Leaders, and Managers.
● Support medication management processes, including medication audits, reviews, and the promotion of safe medication practices.
● Develop, implement, review, and maintain clinical policies, procedures, care plans, risk assessments, and health management plans.
● Conduct clinical audits and support organisational compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards and other relevant legislative requirements.
● Review clinical incidents and support investigations involving medication administration, participant health concerns, or other clinical risks.
● Monitor participant health outcomes and provide recommendations to support safe and effective service delivery.
● Identify, assess, and escalate participant health concerns or clinical risks as required.
● Liaise with GPs, specialists, pharmacists, allied health professionals, families, guardians, and other stakeholders to support participant outcomes.
● Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement activities across the organisation.
● Provide clinical advice regarding restrictive practices, behaviour support implementation, and complex support requirements where appropriate.
● Maintain accurate clinical records, reports, and documentation in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements.
● Support the development and implementation of staff education programs, clinical resources, and best practice initiatives.
● Provide clinical consultation and escalation support to operational teams, including participation in an on-call arrangement if required.
● Promote a culture of safe, person-centred, evidence-based practice throughout the organisation.
About You
You are a confident and experienced Registered Nurse with strong clinical reasoning skills and a passion for improving care quality within disability, community, aged care, or health services.
Essential Requirements
● Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
● Minimum 3 years' post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse.
● Experience within disability services, aged care, community care, rehabilitation, hospital, or similar healthcare settings.
● Strong understanding of medication administration, medication management, and safe medication practices.
● Experience supporting people with complex health needs and high support requirements.
● Ability to develop and deliver training and assess staff competency.
● Sound knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and quality and safeguarding requirements.
● Experience reviewing incidents, conducting audits, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational teams and stakeholders.
● Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between service locations as required.
Highly Desirable
● 5+ years' nursing experience in disability, aged care, community health, rehabilitation, or similar clinical settings.
● Previous experience in a Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Educator, Clinical Lead, Quality, or similar leadership role.
● Experience delivering staff training and competency assessments.
● Experience developing policies, procedures, clinical documentation, and health management plans.
● Experience conducting clinical audits, incident reviews, and quality improvement activities.
● Experience supporting participants with complex health needs and high physical support requirements.
● Knowledge of restrictive practices and behaviour support frameworks.
● Experience working within the NDIS sector.
● Current First Aid and CPR certification.
