About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Trainer & Assessor to deliver the CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care to domestic students.
This role involves delivering high-quality, compliant, and engaging training and assessment within the early childhood education sector. You will support students in developing the knowledge, practical skills, and professional behaviours required to work effectively in early learning environments and progress within the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver face-to-face and practical training in Early Childhood Education and Care programs
- Support students in classroom, simulated, and workplace learning environments
- Follow AOWL’s Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS), training materials, and assessment resources
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and competency outcomes
- Conduct and assess practical and theoretical assessments in accordance with training package requirements
- Maintain accurate, compliant, and timely training and assessment records
- Provide learner support and assist with student engagement and retention strategies
- Participate in assessment validation, moderation, and continuous improvement activities
- Ensure compliance with RTO standards, regulatory requirements, and industry expectations
- Apply child safety, duty of care, and Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles in all training delivery
- Maintain industry currency and participate in ongoing professional development activities
- Liaise with workplace supervisors and employers to support student placement and workplace assessment activities
Skills & ExperienceEssential Requirements
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116, TAE40122, or equivalent)
- Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care at CIII or Diploma level
- Demonstrated industry experience working in Early Childhood Education and Care settings
- Current knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), and relevant legislation and regulations
- Strong understanding of child safety, safeguarding, and duty of care responsibilities
- Ability to deliver engaging, student-centred, and practical training
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with diverse learner cohorts
Current Clearances
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
- First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management qualifications (desirable)
Additional Skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle)
- Ability to support students in both classroom and workplace-based learning environments
- Experience in vocational education and training (VET) and competency-based assessment will be highly regarded
