The Role
We are looking for a skilled, reliable Pie Maker to take ownership of our busy savoury baking section. You will be responsible for producing our signature range of gourmet pies and savoury pastries from scratch, ensuring our display cabinets are beautifully stocked to meet high daily demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pie & Pastry Production: Prepare, fill, and bake our core range of gourmet meat pies, sausage rolls, quiches, and savoury pastries.
- Dough & Lamination: Consistently roll, cut, and manage shortcrust and puff pastry doughs to our high standards of presentation and flake.
- Kitchen Operations: Follow established recipes accurately, manage production schedules to minimise waste, and ensure the baking kitchen keeps pace with morning demand.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain an immaculate, sanitary baking area, adhering strictly to food safety regulations and equipment cleaning schedules.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven experience specifically in pie making, commercial baking, or commercial pastry production (essential).
- Technical Skill: Solid understanding of pastry lamination, dough consistency, and commercial oven management.
- Availability: Must be reliable and available for early morning starts (e.g., 4:00 AM) including weekend shifts.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift heavy bags of ingredients (up to 25kg) as required in a production kitchen.
- Working Rights: Must hold valid, unrestricted Australian working rights (Evidence required).

Pay: $53,718.69 – $85,382.63 per year
