The Opportunity
Due to the continued expansion of our chiller maintenance portfolio, VAE Group is seeking an experienced Chiller Technician to support key sites across the Cairns region. Reporting to the Customer Account Manager, you will be responsible for performing hands-on maintenance, repair and installation of commercial HVAC equipment. Some of the key responsibilities will include:

Supporting continuity of service delivery across the broader chiller maintenance portfolio

Helping reduce downtime risk on critical assets across high-priority facilities

Diagnosing and rectifying faults on chillers, chilled water systems and associated plant

Providing excellent customer service to our clients through quality work and communication

Carrying out detailed inspections and providing clear service reports

Providing technical advice and support to internal teams and customers
What makes you stand out
You will demonstrate a commitment to delivering strong customer service and quality workmanship in a HVAC service environment, and:

Proven experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding commercial chiller systems

Be a good communicator with both clients and the internal team

Be autonomous, organised and driven to complete work well (be it on the tools or with job notes)

You’ll need:
- Trade qualification in Refrigeration (dual trade with Electrical is a bonus, but not required)

All relevant trade licences: ARCtick, Restricted Electrical, CPR/LVR, White Card, QBCC (Mech Services), Driver’s Licences
