Role Purpose:
Reporting to our Front Office Manager at Crystalboook Byron in beautiful Byron Bay, this rare opportunity is for a full-time Duty Manager who will ensure that the shifts across the Front Office department run smoothly, efficiently, and continue to provide an outstanding guest service and experience. The role can be varied and is responsible for the oversight and management of the Front Office Team, check-in and out process, accurate administration, and compliant business management. You will promote the Hotel affectively and communicate efficiently across a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily Front Office operations

Lead and support the Front Office team

Deliver exceptional guest service and resolve guest concerns

Manage check-ins, check-outs and guest requests

Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations

Assist with training and onboarding team members

Handle cash, billing and shift reporting procedures

Maintain hotel standards, safety and presentation

Act as the main contact for operational issues during shifts
Skills and experience:
To be successful in this position, we are seeking individuals who naturally demonstrate:
-
A genuine ambition for hotel collaboration with strong leadership acumen and experience in driving service standards
- You must have a minimum 12 months of Hotel Front Office Management experience at high-end establishments
- Strong IT skills - preferably with experience using Opera PMS

Relevant long-term and permanent working rights in Australia
- A high standard of customer service and delivery of service
- A tertiary qualification in Hospitality and/or Hotel Management
- A natural energy with an ambitious drive for excellence
- A people-centric collaborator with a creative spirit and a respectful and engaging approach to developing and maintaining effective working relationships
Candidates with Australian work rights extending beyond one year will be favourably considered due to the training and development commitment required for the role.
