As a Spatial Scientist specialising in aerial LiDAR operations, the role encompasses the following duties:
- Work under the direction of the ALS Manager to deliver high-quality geospatial data and meet operational priorities.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of ALS survey trips based on project scope, spatial requirements, and client specifications.
- Acquire, collect, and validate LiDAR point cloud and imagery datasets during aerial survey operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage, back up, and process spatial data in accordance with company quality standards and data management protocols.
- Interpret and present spatial data outputs; maintain detailed field notes and ensure accurate communication with the processing team.
- Distribute processed geospatial datasets and reports to internal teams and clients in appropriate formats.
- Assist in special projects relating to aerial LiDAR, landscape mapping, vegetation analysis, and related geospatial applications.
- Support the development and maintenance of spatial data infrastructure, software workflows, and equipment used in ALS operations.
