Full Job Description

The Welder Fabricator is responsible for both welding and fabricating metal components and structures according to technical specifications. This role combines hands-on welding skills with the ability to measure, cut, assemble, and shape metal parts. Welder Fabricators play a key role in manufacturing, construction, and repair projects, ensuring that finished products meet quality, safety, and design requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabricate metal components using cutting, bending, and shaping techniques
Perform welding using MIG, TIG, Stick, or other appropriate methods
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications
Measure and mark materials for cutting and assembly
Assemble and fit parts to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity
Inspect finished welds and fabricated components for quality and accuracy
Operate fabrication equipment such as press brakes, grinders, and cutting tools
Maintain and service welding and fabrication equipment
Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures
Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and other trades

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Relevant trade qualification in welding, fabrication, or metalwork
Proven experience in both welding and fabrication work
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
Strong understanding of welding techniques and fabrication processes
Good mathematical and measurement skills
High attention to detail and workmanship quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in industries such as manufacturing, construction, or heavy engineering
Additional certifications in specific welding processes or materials
Knowledge of different metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum

Working Conditions:

Workshop and/or on-site environments
Exposure to heat, noise, fumes, and heavy machinery
May require lifting heavy materials and working in various positions
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory

Pay: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
