The JBS Dinmore Processing Plant is the largest beef facility in the southern hemisphere. Located near Ipswich, in south east Queensland, the facility has a daily production ability of 3,400 cattle and employs approximately 2,600 people. Cattle are sourced from the finest cattle producing regions to produce a diverse range of pasture fed and grain beef products, from commodity to premium. The renowned AMH brand, the award-winning Yardstick, the highly marbled grain fed Pure Prime and our state’s brand, Queenslander Beef and more are all produced at Dinmore.
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our Dinmore Plant. We are seeking a passionate and energetic individual who is committed to the position and providing an effective professional service. This role will be responsible for providing maintenance support to all areas across the plant to ensure the attainment of Production, Quality/FSQA, and Workplace Health and Safety requirements and objectives. This is a full-time position with the annual salary more than $79,423 plus superannuation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducts tests of mechanical systems, collects and analyses data, and assembles and installs mechanical assemblies in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists.
Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance
Engaging in fabrication, installation and repair of mechanical machines, instruments or appliances
Ensuring that all work is carried out to the Company and requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations
Utilising fault-finding to troubleshoot and rectify problems
About you
Previous experience in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
Previous experience within the meat industry advantageous
Sound knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, as well as a basic knowledge of electrics and welding skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrated continuous improvement approach
Ability to support a broad variety of mechanical work
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to communicate at all levels
Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
Ability to work various shifts
