A little about the role
An exciting opportunity to make a positive and lasting difference to the lives of families and children through the delivery of culturally safe family support services. These services are provided as part of the Family Support Hub (FSH) in a collaborative Partnership with South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) as the lead agency. Your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Taking a lead role in building the capacity of families through the delivery of focussed, flexible supports utilising the Key to Care framework to engage, motivate, explore, plan and work towards agreed goals.
- Ensuring case management is focused on the needs of the family and incorporates a trauma informed approach to support healing and recovery
- Developing relationships and work collaboratively with key stakeholders including the Department of Communities and local community supports.
The base salary for this position is $92,286.48 - $99,294.52 /annum (based on 1.0FTE) + super + vehicle allowance & fuel card + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum. This role is a temporary full-time position, covering parental leave up until 30 April 2027.
About you
Our ideal Case Worker colleagues will have experience in a similar role within the social and community services sector with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the impact of family violence, alcohol abuse and mental health issues. You will bring
- Training and/or qualifications in community services
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working within the community services sector with a sound understanding of child protection practices
- Case management, assessment and risk management skills.
- An ability to communicate both verbal and written, clearly and sensitively with children/young people and adults in different situations.
