Production Team Member

We are seeking a motivated, reliable and hardworking Production Team Member to join our production team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a strong work ethic and is looking to build a long-term career in commercial horticulture.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Preparing potting media, containers and production areas prior to planting.
- Selecting seeds, bulbs and cuttings for propagation.
- Planting, potting and transplanting seedlings and nursery stock.
- Watering plants using both manual methods and automated irrigation systems.
- Applying fertilisers and soil amendments to support healthy plant growth.
- Preparing, mixing and applying herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and other agricultural chemicals in accordance with company procedures, product labels and relevant legislation.
- Operating and maintaining spray equipment while ensuring accurate chemical application records are maintained.
- Monitoring and controlling weeds, pests, diseases and nutritional disorders to maintain healthy nursery stock.
- Maintaining accurate records relating to soil mixes, planting activities, chemical applications, treatments, crop losses and production yields.
- Pruning, staking, spacing, weeding, fertilising and maintaining nursery stock to meet quality standards.
- Selecting, grading, packaging and preparing plants for customer orders and dispatch.
- Operating nursery equipment and machinery safely, including forklifts and other production equipment following appropriate training and licensing.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment, including the safe storage, handling and disposal of chemicals.
- Working collaboratively with the production team to achieve production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and workplace safety.

- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality nursery stock.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Previous experience in horticulture, nursery production, agriculture or landscaping is desirable but not essential.
- A current driver's licence is desirable but not essential.

- Forklift (LF) High Risk Work Licence.
- Accredited Chemical Handling training.
- Chemical Spray Operator training and certification.
- Practical on-site training in chemical mixing, calibration, safe application techniques, environmental management and integrated pest management.
- Training in irrigation systems, nursery production processes, plant health management and the safe operation of nursery equipment and machinery.
