About the role
We are currently seeking a skilled Painting Trades Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surface preparation, painting and finishing work to deliver high quality results on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial and industrial properties with at least one year of experience.

Employment type: Permanent, Full time
Remuneration: $75,000 to $85,000 plus Superannuation
Key responsibilities:
As a Painter, your responsibilities will be.
- Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint
- Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting.
- Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas.
- Able to apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, etc. to property walls, ceilings, and furniture.
- Able to effectively use brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
- Responsible for maintaining property colour scheme specifications.
- Responsible for maintaining and matching shades of areas.
- Choosing and purchasing paint, brushes, and other supplies from vendors
- Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs.
- Coordinate with the vendor to modify paint, stain, or varnish colours.
- Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
- Report work-related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to the manager/supervisor.
- Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
Qualifications:
A relevant Certificate III level qualification is required for this role.
Experience:
Past experience gained (post qualification) in the same role for 1 year would be the minimum requirement for the incumbent to have the necessary level of proficiency.
Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of painting materials and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
