Residential Support Worker - Broome Transitional Accommodation Service

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new residential service based in Broome, supporting women and children experiencing family and domestic violence and homelessness.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will help create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where residents can stabilise, build confidence and work toward positive outcomes.

The role involves supporting daily living activities, maintaining a safe residential environment, assisting with case planning and safety planning, facilitating group activities and responding to incidents in line with organisational procedures.

This service operates 24/7 and offers a variety of roster patterns across:

Day shifts: 7:00am – 5:15pm
Afternoon shifts: 5:00pm – 11:00pm
Overnight sleep shifts: 11:00pm – 7:00am

We currently have 4 permanent part-time roster patterns available, including:

Rosters averaging approximately 66.5 hours per fortnight or 40 hours per fortnight
Combination rosters across weekdays and weekends

About you

You’re compassionate, resilient and adaptable, with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people within residential and community settings.

In addition, you will also possess:

Certificate III in Community Services or related qualification (desirable)
Experience supporting people in residential, community services, housing or related settings
Experience working with individuals experiencing complex needs or crisis situations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
Flexible approach to shift work and sleepover shifts across a 24-hour roster
Current Driver’s Licence
First Aid Certificate
National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
