The Opportunity

The Kids Research Institute Australia is one of Australia's leading medical research organisations, dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families. The Kulunga Aboriginal Unit works in partnership with Aboriginal communities to promote culturally secure research and meaningful health outcomes.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Aboriginal Community Projects Administrator to join our Kulunga Aboriginal Unit in Broome. This role provides essential administrative, project coordination and stakeholder engagement support to ensure the smooth operation of community-focused research and engagement activities across the Kimberley.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while working alongside passionate researchers, professional staff and community partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

Provide administrative and project support to the Kulunga team and Kimberley operations.
Coordinate meetings, travel, communications, and project logistics to support research and community activities.
Manage office administration, procurement, expenses, assets, facilities, and operational requirements.
Support the planning and delivery of community events, cultural celebrations, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dates of significance.

Based in our Broome office, this role is offered in a full time, ongoing capacity.

You are a proactive and community-minded administrator who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and values building strong relationships with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Previous experience in administration, project support, or office coordination.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a high level of attention to detail.
A proactive, self-motivated approach and commitment to culturally safe and respectful practices.
