**SEEKING FEMALE SUPERSTAR DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKERS**
Location: ENOGGERA 4051
Hi! I’m hoping to connect with some superstar humans to become the final puzzle pieces in my support team :) I’m urgently seeking to recruit 2-3 new team members.
Particularly suited to uni healthcare or post-grad students, recent grade 12 graduates, or empty nesters (due to my risk factors, basically those who don’t have a second job with commnity contact, or regular contact with younger children and/or institutional environments.) Immediate start preferred. FEMALE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS ONLY PLEASE.
JOB DETAILS
No previous support work experience is necessary (full training provided), but common sense, awareness, empathy, great communication skills, and an understanding of chronic illness are key requirements. Please bring a joyful spirit and a sense of fun! Sorry, this role is not suited to someone anxious or with health issues of their own. Also clarifying that this is not a capacity-building role, as I don't need encouragement or skills building to do things for myself; my body doesn't cooperate like it once used to, so I need capable people who will provide practical supports, and who understand that their role is not to be a cheerleader for me. Due to my disabilities I’m unable to engage in a lot of community access, so to reiterate: the focus of this role is not fun outings, but rather practical supports to give me quality of life and have my disability needs met in the way I need them to be met for my safety & wellbeing. Shifts are allocated in advance with consideration to what works for all as a team – we have plenty of regular shifts available to suit, and are very happy to work around prac placements, holidays etc, and collaborate re your preferred no. of hrs per week. Pay rate starts from $53/hr (dependent on skills & qualifications, and what day/time your shift is). Immediate start preferred.
The role involves assisting me with all the standard tasks of daily living – most shifts will occur within my home, with occasional trips to medical appointments, shops etc. Ideally you will have flexible availability, as we are seeking to fill shifts across all 7 days of the week including inactive sleepover (mandatory, 2 nights per week), weekday daytime, weekday evening, and weekend (please email us for further details of shift times). Bonus points if you’re up for watching some trashy tv on sleepover shifts!!
You will be assisting with:
* personal care
* domestic support
* meal prep
* therapy assistance
* pet care
* admin tasks
* transport/community access (in support worker's vehicle - mileage paid)
ABOUT ME
I’m a 45 yr old NDIS participant with neurodegenerative disabilities who requires support to live independently in my home. I have a fantastic team of existing support workers and foster a friendly workplace where you will be valued and can make a real, positive difference. I love all things feline, planty, foody, and musical! I’m a kitty foster carer, so there will be kitty cuddles galore :)
ABOUT YOU (MANDATORY CRITERIA - please do not apply if you don't meet ALL of the below):
The successful applicant must:
* be female
* be located within 15-20 min of Enoggera
* have own reliable vehicle (with comprehensive insurance) & clear driver's licence
* have (or be willing to obtain – assistance provided):
- Disability Worker Screening or Blue Card or Police Check
- current senior First Aid & CPR
- ABN
- relevant insurances
* be a non-smoker
* be able to commit to a minimum 12 months
* have flexible availability – we are seeking to fill shifts across all 7 days of the week including sleepover (mandatory), weekday daytime, weekday evening, and weekend
* like cats (and not be allergic)!
* be caring, capable, & reliable
* be adaptable, calm, & be able to self-direct
Your time is valuable and so is mine. Being keen is great, however my disabilities are complex and I have limited capacity to engage in a string of messages justifying my support needs, so I would be grateful if you could please respect that the mandatory criteria listed are non-negotiable (they relate directly to my safety and disability support needs, which cannot be compromised.) Additionally, most supports are in-home to assist with my ADLs - this position is not suited to someone who is only interested in being out and about for fun activities.
Please have prepared your current resume and a cover letter/introduction email addressing the specific criteria for the role and your availability. One of my senior support workers or I will reply to you with the job info package. Please feel free to ask questions!
Look forward to hearing from you :)
