Job Title: Medical/Allied Health Receptionist / Clinic Administrator (Part-Time / Casual)

Work Type: Part-Time / Casual (Approx. 15-20 hours/week - at times more when Practice Manager is on leave).
Salary/Rate: Health Professionals and Support Services Award [depending on experience -approx $25 - $35/hr + super]

About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable, empathetic, and organized Clinic Receptionist to join our team. This role is perfect for a university student (ideally studying Psychology, Health Science, or Business) or an administrative professional looking for stable, meaningful part-time work. It would also suit a mature/semi-retired person, or someone with an appropriate skill background looking to return to the workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting clients warmly and managing the waiting room environment.
- Answering phone calls, managing emails, and scheduling client appointments.
- Processing payments and handling Medicare/private health insurance claims.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential client records in line with privacy legislation.
- General administrative tasks to support our team of psychologists.
What We Are Looking For:
- Empathy & Discretion: High emotional intelligence and absolute respect for client confidentiality.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication with a professional telephone manner.
- Tech-Savvy: Quick to learn clinic management software (experience with Halaxy is a plus, but training will be provided).
- Experience: Minimal to medium administrative or customer service experience (retail, hospitality, or reception).
- Availability: Must be available to work on Mondays, and ideally Tuesdays as well. Preference given to candidates with flexibility to increase hours a few times a year to fill-in when Practice Manager is on leave.
