Squared Quality Solutions (SQS) is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join a well-established Queensland property and construction group delivering major development projects across Queensland.
Projects may include commercial, mixed-use, residential and large-scale development projects across multiple sectors.
This role is suited to a commercially focused construction professional with strong estimating, procurement and cost planning experience who enjoys working closely with project delivery teams across both pre-construction and live project environments.
Working alongside Project Managers, Contract Administrators and senior construction personnel, you will play a key role in supporting project feasibility, procurement strategy, budgeting, forecasting and commercial performance across multiple projects.
About the Role
The Quantity Surveyor / Estimator will be responsible for estimating, quantity surveying, cost planning and commercial analysis activities across tender opportunities and active construction projects.
The role supports project teams through feasibility estimating, BOQ preparation, procurement analysis, subcontractor pricing reviews, variation pricing, forecasting support and commercial reporting activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Cost Planning
- Prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs, feasibility estimates and cost plans
- Review drawings, specifications and consultant documentation
- Prepare tender pricing submissions and procurement assessments
- Undertake cost benchmarking, budget reviews and estimate revisions
- Identify scope gaps, procurement risks and pricing inconsistencies
Procurement & Commercial Support
- Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing submissions
- Prepare procurement comparisons and trade levelling assessments
- Support procurement planning and subcontractor engagement activities
- Monitor procurement risks, escalation impacts and market pricing trends
- Assist with value engineering and procurement optimisation initiatives
Project Delivery Support
- Assist with variation pricing, forecasting and commercial reporting during project delivery
- Support Project Managers and Contract Administrators with procurement and cost analysis activities
- Participate in consultant coordination and commercial review meetings
- Assist with final account reviews and project profitability assessments
- Maintain procurement benchmarking and subcontractor pricing databases
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in estimating, quantity surveying or commercial construction roles
- Strong understanding of construction estimating, procurement and cost management processes
- Experience preparing BOQs, tender pricing and feasibility estimates
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities within fast-paced project environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with CostX, Buildsoft Cubit, Bluebeam, Excel, Procore or similar systems highly regarded
Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline preferred
- Current Driver Licence
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
