About the role
Mater Mothers Hospital South Brisbane currently has an opportunity available for an experienced Administration Officer to join the Mater Mothers’ Public Ward Administration team in a permanent capacity, working 12 hours per week.

The successful candidate must be available to work across a 24/7 roster, including public holidays.

The core function of the role is to support the daily administrative operational requirements of the ward with a specific focus on operational efficiency. To proactively perform tasks relating to service delivery, business support and systems administration.

Salary range: $32.02 - $37.35 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing
Actively partner with consumers and patients, as well as interprofessional colleagues, to support service and operational objectives that provide an exceptional experience and outcomes, every time

You will maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration, and financial policy and procedures, maintaining accurate, current and accessible files, including maintenance of records of relevant meetings and discussions

Continually demonstrate highly developed written communication skills including ability to draft routine correspondence on behalf of the senior management
Provide administrative assistance to other staff and others as requested
Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined

About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Highly experienced in providing administrative support, ideally in a clinical setting
Highly developed time management and organisational skills
Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced, demanding environment
Availability 7 days a week, morning, afternoon and night shifts
