ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Youth and Family Case Worker at The Base, you'll be at the heart of our mission, working to empower young individuals and their families to overcome adversity and build resilience. You'll step into a role that goes beyond mere tasks – it's about making a real difference in people's lives. You'll engage with young people facing complex needs, providing tailored support through outreach, mentoring, and intensive case management. Your work will not only contribute to positive outcomes for individuals but also foster a more compassionate and inclusive community. This is a highly administrative role requiring exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and demonstrated experience using client management systems such as SRS. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely client records, data entry, reporting, and documentation to support compliance, positive client outcomes, and effective service delivery.

POSITION PREREQUISITES:
- Certificate or tertiary qualifications in youth work, community or human services, social science, social work, criminal justice, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in intensive case management, including assessment, planning, and ongoing client support.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and compliance with, the Queensland Child Safe Standards and the Human Services Quality Standards is a mandatory requirement of this position.
- Strong written communication skills, with proven ability to maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive case notes.
- Effective communication and engagement skills, with the ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly develop knowledge of, relevant community resources and referral pathways.
- Demonstrated organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing administrative and client workloads.
- Emotional resilience and self-reflective practice, with a commitment to proactive self-care.
- Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and autonomously as required.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with client management and data systems, such as Infoxchange (desirable).

To ensure the safety and integrity of our team and the individuals we serve, certain prerequisites must be met:
- National Criminal History Police Check and Driver's License: Prospective employees must undergo and pass a National Criminal History Police Check. Additionally, a valid Australian/Queensland driver's license is required for the role.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and Disability Worker Screening Check: Before commencing employment, candidates must provide evidence of a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and a Disability Worker Screening Check.
- First Aid and CPR Certification: All employees must possess a current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Probationary Period: All positions are subject to a 6-month probationary period to ensure suitability and alignment with organizational values and expectations.
