Helping Hands Stretton is seeking an inspiring and motivated OSHC Assistant Coordinator to join our growing service. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key leadership role where you’ll shape culture, drive quality, and make a genuine difference in the lives of children and your team.

This is a permanent, part-time role (20 hours per week) working across split shifts, Monday to Friday. This is the perfect opportunity for an education, psychology, social work or healthcare student as we work around your busy schedule.

Service hours include:

Rise Then Shine: 6:30am – 9:00am
Stay and Play: 2:30pm – 6:00pm
School Holidays: Block shifts between 6:30am – 6:00pm

About Helping Hands Stretton

Stretton Helping Hands is a large, vibrant OSHC service providing Before School Care, After School Care, and Holiday HQ programs for around 200 children! With two dedicated OSHC buildings, extensive access to the school's indoor and outdoor spaces, and age-based groups, educators are empowered to lead engaging programs for their own group while receiving ongoing support and mentoring from the leadership team.

About your new role

As an Assistant Coordinator, you’ll help lead a team of passionate Educators and oversee an engaging before- and after-school program for children aged 5-12 years. This role is all about leadership:

Design and help lead a vibrant, child‑centred program, filled with engaging experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, arts and crafts.
Assist with rosters, daily operations, compliance, and administration.
Build a positive, inclusive team culture where Educators feel supported, motivated, and proud of the program they deliver.
Partner with families, the school community, and internal stakeholders to ensure the service continues to grow and thrive.
Be supported by an experienced Coordinator and Regional Manager, so you’re never doing it alone.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:

Working towards or completed a relevant qualification to work as a 2 Year Qualified Educator in QLD in accordance with ACECQA
National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko)
Enjoys working with children and making a positive impact
Communicates clearly and confidently
Works well in a team and aspires to grow into a leadership role
Holds (or is willing to obtain) a National Police Check and a Working with Children check
Has Australian work rights
