About the role
The Workplace Technology Analyst functions as the critical intermediary between Service Desk Level 1 and Workplace Technology / Level 2 support, ensuring escalated issues are resolved efficiently while contributing to documentation, compliance processes, and support for foundational IT tasks such as onboarding, asset tracking, and resolving basic computing issues.
Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Provide Level 1/2 support for end-user computing systems, responding to and resolving escalated technical issues from Service Desk Level 1 promptly and effectively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues related to endpoint devices, device setups, patching, operating systems, and Microsoft 365 tools (e.g., Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint).
- Escalate complex or unresolved incidents to Workplace Technology Level 2 engineers, ensuring all necessary documentation and troubleshooting steps are communicated for timely resolution.
- Support ServiceNow workflows by categorising tickets, logging incident details, tracking resolution progress, and enabling consistent reporting.
- Maintain and assist with the update of technical documentation like patch workflows, incident resolutions, and device configurations to support transparency and operational excellence.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, supporting efforts to optimise workflows, reporting frameworks, and team efficiency.
- Support compliance efforts, performing routine checks on device encryption, antivirus/EDR status, and asset inventory management.
- Assist higher-level Workplace Technology roles with basic tasks across functions such as SOE/Intune, CloudOps, Unified Communications, and Security under guidance, gaining valuable exposure to hybrid Workplace Technology environments.

About You
To be successful in this role you will possess demonstrated skills to diagnose and resolve issues with end-user computing systems, including software, hardware, and operating systems with an ability to follow processes and procedures, ensuring accuracy when writing documentation or completing organisational tasks.
Your toolkit for success:
- Foundation-level experience (workplace or higher education) in IT systems, user support, or IT documentation.
- Basic experience managing asset data or compliance tracking in a structured IT environment.
- Educational background or currently studying in IT or a related field.
- Familiarity with basic troubleshooting techniques for Microsoft 365 tools (e.g., Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
- Exposure to IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms such as ServiceNow for ticket logging and incident tracking.
- Awareness of IT compliance frameworks, including patch management and asset reporting processes.
Highly Regarded
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools like Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) for provisioning and configuration tasks.
- Exposure to cloud technologies (e.g., basic Azure or Microsoft 365 administration tasks) or security practices such as antivirus/EDR verification.
- Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar qualifications.
- Past experience collaborating with specialist teams in areas like SOE, Cloud, Unified Communications, or Security.
