About the role:
Our lovely E.M. Tooth Residential Aged Care Home in Manly is looking for a Permanent Part-time Lifestyle Assistant to join the team.
The overall purpose of the role is to assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities and lifestyle programs which enable residents to participate in a variety of experiences which improve their quality of life, taking into account the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of each individual within Anglicare Southern Queensland (Anglicare).
The role will also be responsible for ensuring resident safety at all times and providing services to residents under the direction and supervision of a Diversional Therapist and/or other team members as per the individual Facility structure.
The payrate for this role will range between $35.91-$42.27/hr + Salary packaging depending on your experience.
It's a 26hours/fortnight role, on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.
About you:
- Experience in conducting activity programs, diversional therapy and recreations.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively within a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuously upgrading skills, knowledge and competencies.
- Experience in care of the elderly or evidence of interest in working within aged care.
- Experience within a community services, not for profit or similar organisation.
Role Requirements:
- Valid Aged Care Worker Screening Check:
o Current National Police Check OR
o Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
NB: NDIS Worker Screening Clearance is mandatory for Services/Facilities delivering
services to NDIS clients.
o Statutory Declaration if you have been a citizen or permanent resident of a country
other than Australia after turning 16.
- Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
- Current Queensland Driver Licence and own reliable vehicle
- Certificate IV in Leisure & Health or equivalent
- Associate membership of Diversional Therapy Association of Australia
