The Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET) is seeking a trusted and highly capable executive leader for the role of Deputy Director-General, Corporate Services and Infrastructure (SES3).
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the strategic direction of Corporate Services within a complex and evolving public sector environment. As Deputy Director- General, Corporate Services and Infrastructure, you will influence the strategic direction of a small and complex department, overseeing critical corporate functions and significant infrastructure investments that directly support service delivery across Queensland.
From leading large-scale capital works across TAFE campuses to driving enterprisewide capability and transformation, your work will have a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
This is a high-impact executive role with enterprise-wide influence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide high-level and specialist advice to the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Directors-General and other senior executives on key issues impacting relevant Government, departmental and corporate priorities.
- Collaborate with DTET's senior leaders to enhance service delivery outcomes by ensuring the workforce is equipped to meet current and future organisational needs.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership that enables a capable workforce to deliver key outcomes, effectively, efficiently and within budget.
- Lead decision making around resourcing, information and communication technology services, risk management and investment.
- Lead and inspire a corporate team of approximately 80 FTE to deliver infrastructure projects and customer-focused corporate services.
- Ensure cost effective corporate services are delivered, aligned with departmental and government priorities but with the capacity and flexibility to rapidly respond to future organisation needs.
- Foster collaborative partnerships and strategic relationships with the Department's senior leaders, relevant local, state and federal agencies, Queensland Government central agencies and external service providers.
- Represent the Ministers and Directors-General in complex and sensitive negotiations and consultations in a range of forums and committees ensuring consistent, flexible and professional representation for the department.
