About the role
The Registered Nurse (MHAIS) provides contemporary, evidence-based acute mental health inpatient nursing services and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by achievement of the standards of practice and registration requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). This is evidenced by educational preparation, continuing professional development, adhering to relevant legislation and the context of care.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Contemporary clinical knowledge in acute mental health inpatient service nursing, delivering competent nursing care in complex situations while providing support to other team members.
Ability to educate, inform, counsel and support patients and families on general and clinical information relevant to patient's care, accessing the Clinical Nurse when expert advice is required.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
Current Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 or working towards obtaining.
Mandatory Requirements:
Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
