Job Description:
Position Overview: We are looking for a compassionate and passionate Counsellor/Psychotherapist to become a valued member of our team at First Step Therapies. The preferred candidate will bring a solid background in pediatric and/or family counseling, emphasising holistic support for clients as they navigate diverse mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, providing evidence-based counselling
- Develop and implement personalised treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and progress notes.
- Stay current with best practices and research in the field of counseling and psychotherapy.
- Provide support and guidance to clients in their journey towards mental and emotional well-being.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Valid registration as a Counsellor or Psychotherapist (as appropriate).
- Experience working with non-verbal children is valued but not necessary.
- Demonstrated experience in providing counselling to individuals and groups.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy and a genuine desire to help clients achieve positive outcomes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
