As the way Australians shop continues to evolve, our Data and AI Team keep Coles at the forefront of modern retail. We combine data, artificial intelligence, and applied engineering to reimagine how our stores, supply chain, and digital channels operate — creating smarter, more connected, and seamless experiences for our customers and team members.
Operating as a centralised development and enablement function within Coles Technology, the team unites product, engineering, and platform capabilities to deliver the intelligence layer of the enterprise. We serve every part of Coles — from computer vision applications that enhance in-store experiences and reduce loss, to forecasting, optimisation, and decision-support solutions that drive efficiency, accuracy, and agility across our supply chain, retail operations, and corporate functions.

The Domain Architect – Enterprise Engineering owns the enterprise-wide integration architecture for Coles. This role defines the vision, standards, and guardrails that ensure systems across all domains integrate in a consistent, scalable, secure, and resilient way.
You will lead a team of senior domain architects, work closely with Engineering and Platform teams, and influence senior business and technology leaders to make high quality, long-term architectural decisions. This role sets the bar for integration design and ensures architecture enables speed, reliability, and future growth at enterprise scale.
Key responsibilities will include:
Enterprise Integration Strategy

Define and own the enterprise integration architecture vision and target state

Establish standard integration patterns (API, event driven, messaging, data movement)

Ensure integration architecture aligns to business strategy and technology direction

Drive simplification, reuse, and reduction of fragmentation across the enterprise
Architecture Standards & Governance

Set and enforce enterprise integration standards and reference architectures

Lead design governance for complex, high impact initiatives

Ensure architectural decisions balance delivery speed with long term sustainability

Raise the quality bar for integration design across all domains
Engineering & Delivery Partnership

Partner deeply with Engineering, Platform, and Product teams

Embed architecture early to accelerate delivery and reduce rework

Ensure architecture is practical, consumable, and delivery focused

Support teams to make sound architectural trade offs at pace
Leadership & People

Lead, coach, and develop senior integration and domain architects

Build a strong, aligned architecture community across domains

To be successful, you will have extensive experience delivering the following:
