Who we are
You might know us as the inventors of the bath bomb, but there’s more to this great-smelling, partly employee-owned, family-run company than pioneering cosmetics. We believe our business should put more back into the world than it takes and demonstrate that capitalism can be a force for good.
We put our people first and fight cruel practices like animal testing, promote regeneration, and show that it is what’s inside that counts - whether that’s an ingredient in a product, or the minerals in a smartphone.
The Role
- Employment Type: Part-time (3 days per week), 6 month fixed-term contract, with the potential for ongoing employment
- Location: Villawood, NSW
- Salary: Up to $39,000 per year (pro-rata based on a full-time salary of $65,000)

LUSH is looking for an experienced Artwork Proofreader to join our team on a part-time basis to help ensure our labels and product information are accurate, compliant and ready for print.
Working closely with our Purchasing and Buying team, you will critically review packaging artwork (including labelling and signage) to ensure it meets Australian regulatory requirements before it goes to print. You will be confident identifying potential issues, including environmental “green” claims and product benefit claims, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure these are validated prior to approval.
-
Cross-check packaging labels to ensure all required product information is included and aligns with Australian labelling requirements (ACCC), including ingredient lists, product claims, net weights, and volumes.
- Identify environmental "green" and other product claims on packaging and liaise with internal teams to ensure they are validated before approving artwork.
- Review locally updated content to ensure product information, recycled material claims, and other packaging information are accurate.
- Proofread packaging artwork for spelling and grammar.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure artwork is finalised accurately and on time before print.
We’re looking for a self-starter who can hit the ground running! This role requires someone with the confidence and expertise to jump right in and make an immediate impact. The ideal candidate will also bring the following skills:
- Experience proofreading packaging or labels within cosmetics or another similar industry in Australia.
- A strong understanding of Australian Consumer Law (ACCC requirements), particularly relating to product labelling and advertising claims.
- The ability to identify green claims, product benefits claims and other statements that may require further validation or approval.
- Excellent written English, spelling and grammar skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot inconsistencies or potential compliance risks.
-
A supportive learning environment, including a comprehensive induction day.
- A progressive work environment that celebrates diversity.
- Paid birthday leave.
- A generous discount on LUSH products to keep you smelling and feeling fresh.
- A welcome pack of LUSH products and eco-friendly goodies.
- Company-sponsored Employee Assistance Program with free access to psychological, financial, legal and dietary advice.
