About the Role
The purpose of the Clinical Midwife Specialist (Grade 2) (CMS 2) position is to provide senior midwifery clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a midwifery unit, team or service.
The CMS 2 employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.
Ideal Candidate
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife (Division 1) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
- Qualified as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and problem solve to manage the complex clinical care needs of patients/women through the development and use of advanced clinical management plans
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with advanced interpersonal and problem solving skills
