Water & Sewer General Labourer 6-Month Contract

Key Responsibilities:
- Directions and Supervision – Follow directions given by the Overseer, supervisor & team members.
- Infrastructure Development and Maintenance – This position provides the incumbent with the opportunity to learn and contribute to the development of and maintenance of Councils landfill sites, water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure.
- Team Support and Capital Works – Work within a team and assist team member as required on capital works programs, to improve water, sewer and stormwater systems/networks.
- Repairs and System Maintenance – Carry out repairs of water treatment plant, water distribution system, sewer treatment plant, sewer retic system, sewer pump stations, rising mains, low pressure sewer systems and stormwater pump stations.
- Maintenance Programs – Work through maintenance programs.
- Pools and Splash Parks Operations – Carry out identified / designated works at Council pools and Splash Parks ensuring there operating as should.
- Records and Documentation – Keep records / diary of any works undertaken.
What You’ll Need:
- A keen eye for safety, plant and tools operating skills
- Australian Drivers Licence and ability to maintain
- Construction induction “White Card”

This is a full-time 6-month contract with the potential for ongoing full-time employment, and for the right candidate this will include completing Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (Treatment: Water and Sewer). Completion of the required qualification will be supported by Council. This position is classified at Grade B Entry Level under Council’s salary structure with a salary range based on qualifications and experience from $60,531.01 to $68,127.94 per annum, plus 12% statutory superannuation and a 76-hour 9-day fortnight. Conditions are in accordance with Local Government (State) Award 2023.
