The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) services, offering withdrawal management, residential and non‑residential rehabilitation, and harm‑reduction programs. Our services provide a place of safety, dignity, and hope for people seeking recovery. The Geelong Withdrawal Unit supports individuals through medically supervised detox, ensuring their physical, mental, and emotional needs are met in a trauma‑informed and culturally safe environment.
About the role
As an Enrolled Endorsed Nurse, this is your opportunity to deliver high‑quality withdrawal management nursing care, including admissions, discharges, clinical observations, medication administration, and support for clients throughout their detox journey. You will work closely with RNs, GPs, AOD workers, and the Nurse Team Leader to ensure safe, compassionate, and effective service delivery.
Reporting to the Nurse Team Leader, this is a casual position, located in our Geelong Withdrawal Unit, based in Corio, VIC.
Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with the Nurses Award 2010.
How you will make an impact

Provide high‑quality client care through admissions, discharges, clinical observations, withdrawal scales, and medication administration.

Support multidisciplinary collaboration by working closely with GPs, RNs, AOD workers, and support staff.

Maintain accurate documentation including client notes, pathology tracking, and unit audit reporting.

Ensure safe practice by identifying risks, completing incident reports, and following WHS procedures.

Contribute to unit operations through handovers, meetings, room preparation, and general support tasks.
What you will bring

Relevant Nursing qualification and current AHPRA registration.

Completed or willingness to complete Cert IV AOD competencies within 12 months.

Experience in AOD nursing, withdrawal management, or mental health (desirable).

Strong skills in triage, assessment, crisis response, and infection control.

Ability to work with people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.

Confident computer skills (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint).

A current Employee Working With Children Check,
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
