JH 1919 Pty Ltd is the brand management company operating the 1919 Lanzhou Beef Noodle, Master Lanzhou Noodle Bar and 1919 Master Lanzhou Beef Noodle restaurant groups — among Australia’s largest and most recognized Chinese restaurant brands, with 48 stores across Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Canberra, and expanding. Our brands carry a century-old heritage built on hand-pulled noodles and a secret broth recipe dating back to 1919.
We are seeking a high-quality Bookkeeper to support our Accounting Team in delivering accurate, timely, and scalable finance operations across a growing client portfolio.
Main responsibilities:
· Perform day-to-day bookkeeping functions across multiple group entities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
· Assist in the preparation of management reports, financial summaries, and supporting documentation for internal review.
· Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding day-to-day finance and account queries, escalating more complex matters to the Senior Accountant where required.
· Prepare and assist with BAS/IAS lodgements, payroll processing (including STP Phase 2 compliance), superannuation obligations, and related payroll reconciliations.
· Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journals, accruals, reconciliations, and workpapers.
· Ensure all bookkeeping and accounting tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with Australian accounting, taxation, and payroll regulations.
· Proactively identify discrepancies or issues, follow up on missing information, and assist in maintaining efficient workflow within the accounts and finance team.
· Maintain organised and accurate financial records, filing systems, and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
· Assist with continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and internal controls where appropriate.
Requirement:
· Minimum 1 year experience in bookkeeping or accounting practice
· Confidence managing client relationships and following up information
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong attention to detail
· proficiency in Xero and MYOB
Pay: $63,000.00 – $68,000.00 per year
