Salary: $80,000 per annum + Superannuation
Hours: Minimum 38 hours per week

Hibernian Hotel Beechworth is a well-established hospitality venue located in the heart of historic Beechworth. Our business comprises a busy bistro, traditional hotel bar (pub), function and event facilities, and quality accommodation apartments, catering to both local patrons and visitors throughout the year.
We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service across our restaurant, private functions and hospitality operations. We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to join our professional kitchen team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will perform duties of professional Chef, including but not limited to:
- Planning menus and developing seasonal specials in consultation with management.
- Preparing, cooking and presenting a wide range of high-quality meals for the bistro, functions and special events.
- Maintaining consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Supervising food preparation during breakfast, lunch, dinner and function service.
- Estimating food requirements and ordering food supplies while maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Monitoring food costs, minimising wastage and assisting with kitchen budget control.
- Supervising, training and mentoring cooks, apprentices and kitchen staff.
- Ensuring compliance with Food Safety Standards, HACCP requirements and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Inspecting food preparation, storage and kitchen operations to ensure hygiene standards are maintained.
- Assisting with rostering and coordinating kitchen staff during busy service periods.
- Developing new menu items that complement seasonal produce and customer preferences.
- Liaising with management regarding menu planning, kitchen operations and customer feedback.
- Ensuring all kitchen equipment is operated safely and maintained appropriately.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient commercial kitchen environment.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Certificate III or IV in Kitchen Management, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum one years of relevant full-time experience as a Chef.
- Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen operations.
- Experience preparing high-quality meals in a busy restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of Australian food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, split shifts and public holidays as required.
