About the role
The Organisational Planning and Strategy Department is responsible for ensuring Council's property assets are effectively managed to support community outcomes. This role plays a key part in managing Council's portfolio of community facilities and supporting community organisations to access and utilise these assets in a way that aligns with Council objectives and community needs.
As Property Officer – Community, you will provide specialist property management services focused on Council's community facilities. You will manage leases, licences and occupancy agreements, monitor compliance with lease and licence obligations, provide advice on property and tenure matters, and act as the primary liaison between Council and community organisations, tenants and facility user groups. The role also contributes to policy and process improvements, supports community facility projects and ensures sound governance and administration of Council's community property portfolio
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following
- You are a proactive and customer-focused property professional with experience in property management, leasing, licensing, real estate, legal administration or a related field.
- You have strong knowledge of property agreements and relevant legislation, with the ability to interpret contractual and regulatory requirements to provide sound advice and recommendations.
- You possess highly developed stakeholder engagement, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and can build productive relationships with community organisations, tenants and internal stakeholders.
- Your analytical and problem-solving skills enable you to manage complex property matters, while your attention to detail and organisational skills allow you to effectively balance multiple priorities and projects.
- Experience in local government property management or community facility administration will be highly regarded
