DOORCRAFT are seeking a reliable and physically fit Yardperson to support daily operations at our timber door manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling timber materials, organising yard stock, assisting with production, delivering our products and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, unload, and store incoming timber, hardware, and supplies.
Pick and prepare timber and materials for production and dispatch.
Load and unload trucks using a forklift or manual handling equipment.
Maintain yard cleanliness and ensure proper material stacking and storage.
Assist in production tasks
Conduct regular inventory checks and report stock levels.
Perform basic preventative maintenance on yard equipment.
Follow all WHS procedures and ensure a safe yard environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
Current forklift licence (LF) – mandatory.
C class drivers licence
An interest in starting a Certificate III in Carpentry highly regarded
Previous experience in a timber yard, building supplies, or carpentry environment preferred.
Sound knowledge of timber types and sizes used in door manufacturing.
Ability to safely handle long and heavy timber sections.
Strong work ethic and a willingness to assist across different departments.
Good communication skills and attention to detail.
Experience in loading and safely strapping items to trucks
