Upton Engineering and Manufacturing are seeking skilled and experienced Boilermakers to join our growing team. UEM delivers high‑quality fabrication and welding across a wide range of industry sectors including aerospace, defence, mining, alumina/smelter refineries, oil and gas, ports, government infrastructure projects, and motorsports.
The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components to the highest standard. You will work with a variety of materials and processes, ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality in every job. To be successful in this role you will need:
- Proven experience as a Boilermaker or Fabricator
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications
- Competency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Experience with structural steel fabrication and heavy‑industry components
- Ability to perform accurate measurements, cutting, and layout work
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and adherence to company procedures
- Ability to complete high‑quality welds and fabrication work with minimal supervision
- Competency using workshop tools, machinery, and measuring equipment
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship
Skills and Experience:
- Trade qualification – Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication)
- High level of accuracy and pride in workmanship
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work systems
- Experience in heavy fabrication or pressure welding (highly regarded)
- Ability to work from drawings
- Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO3834 & AS9100 (desirable)
