These are full-time, permanent positions.
Salary
Annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation, depending on the position, qualifications and experience.
About the Role
As a member of the kitchen team at Australian Venue Co., you will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality food while maintaining exceptional food safety and kitchen standards. Depending on the position, responsibilities may include:

Preparing, cooking and presenting food to a consistently high standard in line with established recipes and presentation standards.

Supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen during service, including a la carte and function service.

Monitoring food quality, consistency, and portion control at all stages of preparation and presentation.

Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and WHS standards, including temperature checks, day dotting, food handling and cleaning schedules.

Ordering, receiving and managing stock and kitchen supplies.

Assisting with menu planning and development.

Supervising and mentoring junior kitchen staff.

Managing kitchen operations during service and food costs, wastage and kitchen efficiencies (senior Chef roles).

Working collaboratively with venue management and front of house staff to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
In a Cook role, the focus is on execution: preparing and cooking menu items to a consistently high standard under the direction of senior kitchen staff, contributing to a professional and high-performing team environment. Leadership and development responsibilities increase in line with seniority of the role.
About You
To be successful, you will demonstrate:

Relevant experience in a commercial kitchen appropriate to the level of the position.

Sound knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques, with the ability to produce high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment.

The ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage preparation tasks effectively across varying service demands.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to work autonomously when required.

A commitment to maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

A positive attitude and passion for hospitality.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should have one or more of the following:

Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) (or equivalent); and/or
-
Demonstrated commercial cooking or chef experience relevant to the position
