The Role

We're looking for an experienced and self-motivated Bookkeeper to join the Elite Books team. Reporting to our Client Manager, you'll manage day-to-day bookkeeping across a portfolio of clients — hitting the ground running from day one.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, manages their time well, and thrives working independently. Full-time and part-time arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and general ledger entries across multiple client files
Process client payments accurately and on time
Maintain accurate and well-structured financial records
Assist with month-end processing including reconciliations and financial registers
Assist with payroll processing
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
Liaise with the internal accounting team as required
Ad hoc duties as required

Skills & Experience:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar financial role
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and accounting software such as Xero
Experience managing multiple client files simultaneously in a practice environment
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines without close supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in the building and construction industry is a significant advantage

To Be Successful You Will Have

Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting, or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred) or equivalent practical experience
Proven ability to manage competing priorities across a client portfolio
Able to prioritise and manage workload without constant direction
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, based in Australia
Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
