Z Protection Services is one of Victoria’s best security providers and an employer of choice, with strong, long-term relationships across government, commercial, and public-space clients. We are excited to be expanding our team for Licenced Venues and Major Events in Ballarat and are seeking proactive Casual Security Events Supervisors, Events guards, and Crowd Controllers to work across various venues and events we have in the Ballarat and surrounding suburbs.
Most events take place over the weekends and after hours over this period. The exact events and dates for the events will be provided to you once shortlisted.
About the role
Security supervisors & crowd controllers are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers & patrons. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work nights and weekends; previous crowd control experience is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a visible security presence to deter unsafe or unlawful behaviour at events.
- Control access points, including entry screening, ticket verification, wristband checks, and bag inspections.
- Monitor crowd behaviour and identify potential risks, escalating concerns in accordance with event security procedures.
- Enforce venue rules, event conditions, and relevant legislation, including RSA requirements where applicable.
- Assist with crowd management, line control, and safe movement of patrons throughout the venue.
- Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and emergencies, following established response protocols.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, control rooms, event staff, emergency services, and venue management.
- Observe and report intoxication, anti-social behaviour, and security breaches, taking appropriate action.
- Provide customer-focused assistance to patrons while maintaining a professional and calm demeanour.
- Complete incident reports, log books, and other required documentation accurately and promptly.
- Conduct patrols of event areas, including stages, bars, amenities, and external perimeters.
- Assist with evacuations and emergency procedures when required.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
- Current Victorian Security License (Required)
- First Aid Certificate(Required)
- Current RSA Certificate(Required)
- Excellent presentation and grooming standards
- A Positive and Proactive Approach
- Strong communication skills, including incident report writing.
- Ability to multitask and work autonomously in high paced team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, staff, and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of security best practices, crowd management techniques, and emergency response procedures.
- Passion for delivering professional and efficient customer service
- Evening & weekend availability are essential

- Proven experience in licensed venues (Highly Regarded)
