Position – Early Childhood (Pre-Primary) Teacher

Salary - $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Early Childhood Teacher to plan, deliver and evaluate engaging educational programs that support children's learning, development and wellbeing.
Working within a supportive early learning environment, you will create meaningful play-based learning experiences, observe and assess children's progress and work collaboratively with families and other educators to ensure each child's individual learning and developmental needs are supported.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Plan, develop and deliver engaging play-based educational programs appropriate to children’s individual interests, abilities and developmental needs.
· Promote children's language and social development through storytelling, music, art, movement, games, group activities and imaginative play.
· Observe, assess and document children’s learning, behavior, development and progress, using observations to inform future planning.
· Establish a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages confidence, independence, curiosity and positive relationships.
· Support children's social and emotional wellbeing by promoting respectful interactions, positive behaviour and a sense of belonging.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents and families, regularly communicating regarding children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
· Work collaboratively with educators, families and relevant support professionals to address children's individual learning and developmental needs.
· Maintain appropriate educational records, learning documentation and individual development information.
· Support children's health, hygiene, nutrition and safety throughout daily activities and routines.
· Participate in staff meetings, curriculum planning and professional development activities to support continuous improvement in teaching practice.
· Ensure educational programs and practices comply with relevant early childhood learning frameworks, National Quality Standards, regulatory requirements, child safety requirements and centre policies.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
· A recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree or equivalent qualification approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) is essential.
· Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as an Early Childhood Teacher or in a comparable early learning teaching position.
· Demonstrated experience planning and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate play-based learning programs.
· Sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and National Quality Standard (NQS).
· Experience observing, assessing and documenting children’s learning and using tis information to inform educational planning.
· Strong understanding of children’s social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development.
· Ability to establish positive and respectful relationships with children and effectively engage with parents and families.
· Sound understanding of child safety, duty of care, health, hygiene and early childhood regulatory requirements.
· Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills.
· A caring, patient and inclusive approach with a genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional early childhood education team.
· Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is essential, along with a valid Working with Children Check and relevant clearances.
· You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
