About the role:
The Administration / Property Officer role provides an essential service supporting the everyday running of the police stations within the Ballarat area. The role entails providing administrative support to the units within the Ballarat area including Ballarat Uniform, Ballarat Sexual Offences & Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT), and the Ballarat Family Violence Investigation Unit (FVIU).

Your duties will include:
- Undertaking a range of administrative functions including the maintenance and management of various records and registers (manual and computerised) within a Region/Department/Command.
- Managing highly sensitive and confidential information. You will balance exceptional customer service with strict adherence to privacy protocols.
- Prepare a wide range of routine correspondence, financial, personnel, statistical and other various types of transactions and ensure appropriate follow-up action is taken when required.
- Management and administration of the storage of the Station and Command lost and confiscated property and confidential documentation.
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Proven administrative experience particularly in relation to word processing and data entry.
- Demonstrated experience handling confidential, sensitive, or regulated information in a professional environment.
- An understanding of warehousing and or archiving systems.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to deal effectively with both internal and external key stakeholders.
- Adaptable with ability to move between work locations on a regular basis.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- An understanding of the customer service requirements of the position and a demonstrated record of commitment and achievement in meeting customer needs.
- History of ethical behaviour with commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and the Organisational Values.
Further Information:
- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- The usual place of work will be within a Ballarat City Police Station. However, you may be expected to work out of any location within Western Region Division 3, as required.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
