Be the first point of contact for our clients and take ownership of a key role in a growing, high-quality marine business.
About the role
This isn’t a sit-back admin job.
You’ll be front of house in our workshop — answering calls, greeting clients, and keeping the admin side of the business running properly.
We’ve got the foundations in place, but this role will suit someone who wants to step in, take ownership, and help build better systems over time.
What you’ll be doing
- Answering phones and managing client enquiries (in person & over the phone)
- Invoicing and accounts receivable (including following up overdue payments)
- Entering timesheets and keeping job records accurate
- Sending works agreements and supporting the quoting process
- Basic bookkeeping (coding transactions, entering receipts)
- General admin and keeping things organised day-to-day
- Regular check-ins with the owners to stay aligned, prioritise work, and keep things moving
There’s also room to grow into:
- Stock management & ordering
- Supplier communication
- Improving systems and workflows
- Helping keep the team accountable on time/material tracking
About you
You’re not just “friendly” — you’re confident with people.
You can have a good conversation with a client, but you’re also comfortable holding the line when needed (e.g. invoices due, follow-ups, etc).
You’ll likely:
- Have admin experience (trades, medical, real estate or small business ideal)
- Be organised and able to work independently
- Be comfortable learning systems like Xero (or already experienced)
- Take pride in doing things properly
- Be willing to get stuck in and improve how things are done
Marine experience isn’t required — we can teach that. Strong admin skills and confidence with people matter more.
Just as important — you’re someone who wants to be part of a business and give it a proper crack.
What this role is (and isn’t)
This is a role for someone who:
- Wants stability in a local, growing business
- Takes ownership of their work
- Is happy to step into a role and shape it over time
This is not a corporate office role, and it’s not a stepping stone.
The details
- Full-time role (workshop-based, front of house)
- Bairnsdale location
- $32–38/hr + super (based on experience)
- On the books with full entitlements
- Immediate start available
